With a short deadline to meet and a lot of influencial
managers to keep happy, Torsion presented the finished site a day
and a half early. The bespoke system involved a Wide area network
document management system. Due to the sensitive nature of the site
we cant really post any more information, but a demonstration of a
similar service can be arranged.
VPN
for Leeds Housing Concern
Planning
for the future, Leeds Housing Concern have installed a Linux file,
mail and web server in the form of a top of the range Sun Cobalt
Qube 3. Having 7 sites integrated with a VPN means that the transfer
of internal documents and files is now seamless, saving hours of
staffs time and therefore charity money.
New
network for Top Copy
Integrating two companies can be a daunting experience,
especially when your network doesnt have the capacity to support
your extra staff, computers and printers. A week on-site including
a whole weekend and some very late nights Torsion managed to install
a new 40 point network, allowing the expansion with almost no down
time.
Age
Concern move into the Sun
Any charity knows that feeling of trying to get the
best deal possible for the least amount of money. Age concern are
a charitable organisation who rightly want to do the best for their
customers but have a budget to adhere to. Torsion were able to provide
them with the services and products they needed and a third of the
cost that other companies had quoted. We are now working closely
with them to set up their intranet, and extranet to allow staff
to make use of their newly installed broadband connection.
LMU Commission Launches new buisness incentive
Behind the scenes again, Torsion Internet produce a website for a new
business incentive for Students at Leeds Met. The project was to be completed
within 3 days and was delivered on time. See the site at
